Continental's new Carbon Rim Cement has been specifically formulated for mounting Continental tubular tires to carbon composite road wheels. In order to achieve optimum adhesion between the tire and rim, it is imperative that you follow the instructions below very closely.
Critical steps:
1. Begin with clean rim and tire – stretch tire over wheel as noted below for at least 12 hours.
2. Apply a thin layer of rim cement to the rim and the base tape of the tire – ALLOW THE RIM CEMENT TO DRY FOR A MINIMUM OF 3 HOURS.
3. Apply a second thin layer of rim cement to the base tape of the tire – DO NOT APPLY AN ADDITIONAL LAYER OF RIM CEMENT TO THE RIM.
4. Mount and center the tire and inflate to maximum pressure – ALLOW TO DRY FOR A MINIMUM OF 24 HOURS.
5. Reduce pressure to desired level – mount wheels back to bike – Win Races!!!
* If in doubt regarding ANY step of the process – consult your authorized Continental dealer for professional installation.
