Puncture protection thanks to SecuritySystem

Building on Continental's tried-and-tested SafetySystem, the Contact Security tire has been furnished with a very thick and strong rubber layer.

This layer stops any lodged pieces of glass, stones or thorns from working their way through the cover. The chances of the tube being damaged while in use are cut down to a minimum.

In addition to this high resistance to punctures, passive safety is another big attribute of the Contact Security: a reflecting strip on the tire's sidewall makes the bicycle and its rider clearly visible at night too.

Another highlight of the new Contact Security is its high-grade silica tread compound. Silica replaces most of the carbon black which is an otherwise customary ingredient. Silica substantially reduces a tire's rolling resistance, and adhesion on wet roads is better than with conventional carbon black mixes.
