Pat Mcdougall gives the press the low-down

Pat Mcdougall

The Bracken -KTM Super Duke Battle is sponsored by Conti UK and the series runs on ContiRace Attacks tyres. To get behind the series Conti UK has also sponsored and entered a Super Duke 990 and chosen Pat Mcdougall to ride it for us. Although Pat has been involved in mainly international-level competition for the past two seasons, riding for the Beowulf Racing team in the 600 and 1000cc European Superstock Championships, a lack of funds for this year meant he had to return to home shores. We decided to offer him a test ride in the parent KTM990 SuperDuke Battle series which runs at selected rounds of the televised British Superbike Championship. Riding a completely stock machine at Silverstone in the opening two rounds, Pat finished sixth in the Saturday race and fourth on Sunday, having run in second position during the early stages. At the end of the weekend Keen offered McDougall a permanent ride for the rest of the year, supplying the bike, parts and leathers with Pat only needing to fund the race entry fees himself. "This is exactly the sort of opportunity I hoped for when I began in the Bracken KTM Cup" beamed McDougall. "Now I'm back in the BSB paddock after a couple of forays in the R6 Cup, and I just want to thank Continental Tyres for the faith they've placed in me. I'm not going to let them down.
