Your feedback from your real world riding experiences

I cover 25,000 to 30,000 miles a year on tours with my MCi Tour business and I fitted the new Continental Road Attack tyres to my Blackbird, and expected two things:

  1. Too much squirm given the 7mm tread depth
  2. A hard compound tyre that would be unsuitable for the varied terrain that I cover in my tour business.
I need not have worried. I was so impressed by the performance and longevity on the Blackbird that I have since fitted Road Attacks to my Suzuki GSX-R 1000. I use the Gixxer for tours in France down twisty roads and ride solo leading groups through the Ardeche Gorge and through the Pyrenees. I need a tyre that combines adequate grip with decent tyre life. Again I really was surprised. The centre section of the tyre does not square off as much or as quickly as other comparable brands and I can now complete two 2500 mile tours without worrying that the tyre will be bald on the last run. I fit a new rear tyre for every tour - this is no longer necessary as the Road Attack tyres have extended my tyre replacement intervals AND they are a viable and much cheaper alternative to standard fitment tyres. Believe me I have tried them all - after my recent experiences it’s Continental Road Attacks for me.
